2022-2024 Grange items

Writer: 3dgenedesigns3dgenedesigns

So, it's been a few years since I added anything here....oops. Let's start with 2022 National Grange Convention.

2022

Held in Sparks, NV, I had the opportunity to be on the planning committee with my mom since the region was our "home" region. We were in charge of decorations throughout the convention.

Since it was held at a casino in Sparks, we decided to go with a casino theme. The base to the main emblem I designed to be two dice stacked on top of each other. In-between the base and logo was the middle connection piece which was designed to be each royal flush hand fanned out. Finally, the convention logo was put onto the face of an oversized poker chip with each host state around the edge. Finally, as an added detail, I designed the pips of the dice to be the 7 sided shield shape the Grange logo uses. Did you know dice sides have a left and right orientation?

For table decorations during meals I designed a simple decoration with four different sayings in the shape of the Grange shield. I also designed a small card holder in the same shield shape with the convention number as a negative.

Finally, I made small keychains to sell there for Junior and Youth Grange.

From Sparks we go to Buffalo, NY.

Going back to the simpler design, I made the convention logo with the Niagra and Empire State Building in a starry night setting.

For my item to sell I made slider puzzles with both the JR and Grange youth logos on them. This was my first version of this puzzle design which I have updated and use in some of my products.

I made a few things for the silent auction this year. One was a box with the GROW club logo on it. The other was a customized version of the first version of my Multigame box. This version had custom chess pieces that related to the Grange.

2024

Moving on to Bettendorf, IA.

This convention was the most colorful logo I've done. I had to do the inside insert in two different pieces. For the fundraiser item I do every year I made articulated fidget toys with the JR and Youth Grange logos. As a donation to the GROW club silent auction I took the original Grange logo and turned it into a 14" stained glass piece with my sister making the wheat out of vinyl to add on after.

For the community project for this convention I was asked to come up with something combining the Grange emblem with the Wreaths Across America logo. The intent was to give one to each person who donated or purchased a wreath at convention. So, I did exactly that and recreated the Grange emblem out of holly leaves and added a bow to look like a wreath.

As i wrote this I remember how much I've learned in designing things. Especially custom things. A lot of my older designs have sparked new ones and improvements on current ones.
